Hi, I'm June Winterflood

I’m a Canadian, and since 2006, I’ve been living in Basel, teaching English in local language schools and as a freelancer. I flew to the UK in 1986, expecting to stay there for a year; but instead, I met and married my husband and remained in the UK until 2000 before moving first to Paris and then to Basel, arriving on a snowy New Year’s Eve in 2005.

Having lived in other countries, I know first hand how difficult it is to learn a foreign language. I’m learning German online with a friend and colleague who is both patient and kind, so I know how important it is to learn a language with someone you like. ​

Since obtaining a CELTA diploma in 2002, I’ve taught hundreds of people from many countries and various backgrounds. I love the international aspect of my job, and teaching English has been my passion ever since 2002.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, I transferred most of my teaching activity online. The “silver lining” is that students can now join me without travelling, and they can be anywhere! I very much look forward to working with you soon.
